As I may of mentioned before, my project is partially spurred on by the loss of my boyfriends dad. Possibly one of the strangest things i have ever witnessed, the movement of somones ashes. When the urn was purchased (its actually a rather pretty ginger jar, very similar to a traditional urn) the first comment his mum mad was 'well...it doesnt match the living room' is therea chance I can ever win? probably not.
The interesting part was Alex (my boyfriend) and his mum transferring the ashes from the bag he came back in to the urn. To be honest i presumed that the obvious thing to do would not be to open the bag they were contained in, apparently not. I sat back on the otherside of the long room to avoid breathing any of it in (weve had enough of that with the volcano!), whilst the ashes were 'poured' from one vessel to another. some went on the floor and table. So what to do? get a dust pan and brush of course. This they did... i was intrigued of course, to notice that this went on the garden whilst the rest remained in the urn atop the firplace. Alexs dad no doubt would of laughed.
